Geographic, temporal and taxonomic coverage are detailed in depth in EML, but as far as I can see sex isn't. There are many cases when surveys will only focus on one sex or another. This might be because one sex is not present, is undetectable, or the goal of the study only focused on one sex.
This seems such a central aspect of the scope of many ecological studies, particular on animals that I think it would be beneficial to include it.
