sdconfig.mono_host_retry determines whether a failed query to an index node will be retried. It is set to False. Is there a good reason for this? I set it to True, and see no harm done. It just means that I don't have to manually retry a "synda install" job 2-3 times a day. I suspect that there was much less CMIP-6 data when mono_host_retry was set to False than now.

I honestly am not familiar with the flag. I can't really say whether users will notice if it's set to True by defaut or not. Would a command line to set/check the config instead of fiddling with sdt.conf help find a middle ground on this ?
