Description
Adding this mod to a VoxeLibre world reduces ore quantity below the base depth of the world and changes the nether generation.
A standard VoxeLibre world doesn't go all that deep, capping out at -64. Installing df caverns will increase this lower bound. Unfortunately, once the player goes below that original limit of -64, ores become incredibly rare and they appear to only spawn in clusters of one. This means that the optimal strategy for the player to gather ores is to dig down to -64 and not go any lower because it would reduce their ore yield to a point where its impossible to sustain torches, let alone a pickaxe above stone tier.
Another problem I found is that the nether doesn't generate with wide open caverns anymore, but only has small pockets of air and some snaking tunnels in what is otherwise just solid netherrack and blackstone.
