Category Viewer DrillDown View does not work without category set

Steps to reproduce the problem
Drop CategoryViewer on a page
In Hotcakes Category Viewer Settings configure the following
--> Select a category: set to "(None selected)
--> Select a view: set to "DrillDown"
Save
