Bug Description

Bug description

The annotations popup appears in shared or embedded insights when you click the "+" button, which suggests that users can create annotations. However, clicking the "Create" button doesn't do anything, no annotation is created, and there is no error message or feedback.

This creates a broken and confusing experience for users viewing shared or embedded dashboards or insights.

How to reproduce

  1. Open any insight in PostHog.
  2. Click the "Share" button and open the shared URL in an incognito or logged-out session.
  3. Click the "+" button on the chart to add an annotation.
  4. Fill out the form and click "Create".
  5. Observe that nothing happens, no annotation is saved or shown, and no error is shown.

Expected behavior

  • The annotation popup shouldn't be available in shared/embedded views

Hi @ordehi , I made a fix for line graph, will look out for other types of insights with annotations!

If you know of other types that have annotations, would be lovely if you could share them with me, thanks!
