Currently, there's no way to add code blocks in comments on the Dev Blog. It's possible to use the <code> tag for inline code but not the <pre> tag for code blocks.

Here's an example where code is hard to read in the comments: https://developer.wordpress.org/news/2023/06/upgrading-the-site-editing-experience-with-custom-template-part-areas/#comment-1355

One thing I've been mulling over is whether it's possible that we could enable block-based comments there, similar to what was done on the support forums. If not, at least some way to add code would be super helpful.

As an aside, <ul> tags don't seem to be allowed in the comments either.

I haven't tested it, but does the [code] or [php] shortcode work?
