I've been using this theme for a while now on multiple websites, overall, it is superb in the amount of functionality it offers. One missing feature I wish would be added is the ability to add images from a URL. For example, the page title background image, but really anywhere in the customizer/theme options, there is currently only the ability to upload/insert images from the media library.

I use page title images everywhere, and having to serve the image from the webserver as opposed to a CDN like jetpack drastically alters the page load time. I know these plugins are supposed to automatically overwrite the image links but for whatever reason, they often don't work with background images or in templates. In this scenario, I typically will just insert the CDN image URL but that's currently not possible with this theme.

I propose you implement an elementor "insert by URL" like feature as a workaround to this, so that images not picked up by optimization plugins can be manually fixed by using the CDN URL itself as the media source.

Hi @pk385,

Thanks for your feedback and suggestion.

Since we host with WordPress.org, what a theme can / cannot do is regulated by WordPress. Example, features offered by Ocean Extra are not placed there with intent for you to add more plugins to your site, but rules are rules.

The same goes for the functionality of adding premium plugins to your website: the first installation needs to be to your PC then you upload manually to your site as opposed to being able to automatically install them to your WP site.

Elementor is a plugin, so this rule is not applied to them. There is a different set of rules applied to themes vs plugins.

That being said, we'll check how adding the option to Ocean Extra would affect current things, but also if it's even possible to achieve featured post images from links.

If you have more info or details to share about this suggestion, please do.

Thank you very much for your time
