The most tricky part is probably the kernel module, and I'm not really sure why it is needed - accel-ppp works for me without vlan-mon as well. Likewise for IPoE (but I don't need it in my network), what is so special about it that plain DHCP server can't do. Kernel mode PPPoE support itself is already in the kernel, no need for extra modules. |

the program size is very small, I don’t see any problems if it contains all the modules that exist. |

OK, I simply asked if there were earlier attempts to upstream these drivers (and if yes, why they didn't succeed), that could be long time before the current situation. Politics aside (BTW, I'm from Poland where about a million of Ukrainians fled the war), the process may be more difficult today - last time I sent something that got accepted in the kernel was (I think) about 20 years ago. |

No tries, because vlan-mon and ipoe drivers it is part only of userspace accel-ppp software. BTW, looks like linux kernel already in politics, it is sad, it will freezing any progress of some developpers. |

Hi @svlobanov I do not have an recipe unfortunately, however as far as I understand it is basically a tarbal that contains the source that was used to compile the binary, so we should just need to tar the checked out source directory excluding the build dir. Kind regards |

@ci-iancoetzee it should be deb-src package that can be compiled to deb package using standard debian tools. I think the easiest way is to find some C++ project using cmake and copy the receipt |

@svlobanov Please excuse the delay. Been a bit hectic. Had a look, I see here is a cmake package in the official debian repo. Hopefully we can find something useful in there re the source package https://sources.debian.org/src/znc/1.9.1-2/ Looking at debian/rules they see to be making heavy use of dh - Debian Helper instead of cmake directly Edit: I will continue looking for more examples as well |
