What happened:

I was trying to release chronicle, and I had to downgrade my local go to make the make release command in this repo work.

What you expected to happen:

That chronicle would support latest go.

How to reproduce it (as minimally and precisely as possible):

Install Go 1.23
Clone this repo
Run make bootstrap (or make release, but I think bootstrap is enough.

Anything else we need to know?:

Might be a good time to switch to Taskfile as well
