I am building out a feature for my platform where users can chat with each other. I am not looking to re-invent the wheel so I was considering using IRC as the backend, and then having a NodeJS client on the UI for users. The issue that I'm thinking is somehow connecting the username from Appwrite to the username used in IRC so that it's interconnected.
A second, but perhaps more seamless approach is just asking if anyone has built out a chat feature using Appwrite without IRC or any 3rd party tools? Any ideas or how to get this done would be great. I'm thinking there's a less than 1% shot this is possible just due to the complexity of such a concept (mod tools, backend scalability, etc) Thanks!
