Sadly, I been achieving this issue lately, when I'm playing a song with an already saved and higher score, if I play again, nothing unsual by the moment. If I log in in the next credit, the score won't get saved or will be replaced with my newer score (which could not be higher than my previous score). This is happening with latest DDR releases (20200203000 of course).
You can try playing a song and getting a high score. Then play another credit but only play getting a lower score, it is valid if you achieve '0' by the way. In the next credit, your actual score will be the lower score you achieved lately and the higher score, could be saved as a WR but not as your higher actual score. If you keep playing and getting higher scores in every play you won't notice of course
