Hi BAVC folks, I'd like to contribute an example to your AVAA article on Vidicon lag/ghosting/burn-in. It's a remarkable instance of permanent burn-in I discovered from a replacement Vidicon tube for an old camera. Apparently it was installed in a security camera in a previous life, and scanned the same image for (presumably) years, which became permanently burned into its photoconducting surface. See for yourself and have fun trying to figure out what we're looking at. I have have no idea where or when this is. Maybe a bank, office or hotel lobby? The guy who sold me the tube was clueless and thought it was NOS!
Note: the series of submitted images shows the same tube before/after adjustments to the target voltage and electronic focus, and after physically rotating the tube.
