SavvyCAN install on pi 5

Ive been trying all day to get SavvyCAN installed on my Raspberry Pi 5 without success. Im currently running a version of Ubuntu on the pi but starting in the morning I think ill use a spare SD card and install the newest Pi OS (Debian version: 12 (bookworm)) and start from scratch, hopefully this will yield better results. If anyone has any suggestions i would gladly take them...
