Both are forks of Tendermint Core due to tendermint/tendermint#9972, but the Informal Systems public fork of Tendermint Core at https://github.com/informalsystems/tendermint was an interim measure for folks who wanted the latest security patches/updates while the Informal Systems team prepares the first CometBFT releases. Once we cut our first official CometBFT releases, we will be deprecating support for https://github.com/informalsystems/tendermint and would strongly encourage folks to switch to CometBFT as soon as possible. It is possible already to start integration work with our CometBFT |
