I think fpdf is the way to go. My code at rm2pdf is a bit cranky as it was my first go project. However it renders the lines using fpdf pretty well, and there is also an option for outputting similarly to svg. The coordinate system is a bit weird though; I could do with renewing that. The one issue I had with fpdf (actually, it's parent project) is that some PDFs have corrupt indexes and the PDF reading would break. I can do some tests again to see if that is still a problem, but my reMarkable is now on a more recent software version. rm2pdf has initial support for rmapi zip files. It would be awesome to bring both old and new .lines formats to rm2pdf and make that a library for rmapi to render output. See what you think -- I'm happy to help. |

I previously chatted to the rmapi team about better support for rendering pdf annotations and notebooks in rmapi. My project rm2pdf works well except when the underlying pdf can't easily be read. rmapi uses the non-free unidoc packages, I believe.
It would be cool to add better rendering support for both older and the latest CRDT formats. I wonder if you had any thoughts on completing your work on ddvk/reader, with reference perhaps to Rick Lupton's rmscene and Lyr-7D1h's remarkable-lines?
I'm happy to help, but have little of your expertise in understanding binary formats.
