QNX Press release review
Community days in Gifhorn (DE), June 4-5 2025
- Proposal: combine next S-CORE Townhall with Community days in Q2
- Presentation of current agenda by @b-rei
Jira integration into S-Core project
- GitHub Project is not really usable for big projects as S-CORE
- GitLab could be an option, request for providing a test instance is pending for weeks (https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipsefdn/helpdesk/-/issues/5936)
- Ideally, we would like to use open source instance of Jira. Eclipse EMO team rejects this idea -> we need assistance.
Security/Safety/Quality manager roles
- We need to define such roles
- Proposal:
  - every project lead can name for every role 0 ... 1 person, e.g. we can have 5 Security Managers.
  - One person can be assigned to multiple roles
  - if project lead doesn't name anyone, he automatically agrees with decisions, taken by other managers.

- TL Circle should discuss on how to structure communication to QNX and further commercial companies. Do we have a group of people who talks to QNX and is representing S-CORE in one face? Proposal to be present next week, responsible @antonkri
- Idea: We need a direct contact for technical exchange but we've decided to go over eclipse foundation for "public relationships", meaning things like press releases and so on.

- Feedback to the proposal for the new version of QNX Press release, done by S-CORE to QNX
  - Paul Sherwood has objection regarding making press release which only refers to QNX without also referring to Linux-based operating systems
  - S-CORE PLs agree to the current version of press release
  - Press Release will be given to Eclipse (including Paul's feedback) and Eclipse can reformulate it
  - We should review the final version proposed by Eclipsen -> Due Date next Friday.
- Agreed with Eclipse SDV, that they will take over coordination of public relations to QNX, e.g. announcing QNX press release.
- Proposal from Eclipse Foundation to have two press releases:
  - launched and released by Eclipse Foundation, very general, "S-Core runs also on QNX".
  - launched and released by QNX, more information regarding QNX.
- If we stay with one press release, then the information about QNX in the press release will be very limited.

- Proposed to have two sessions, no objections from the round
- Will be extended with link to description of sessions by. @antonkri

- @thilo-schmitt will try to give it a push
- Paul advocates for GitLab, but he needs some more features that are currently deactivated by Eclipse integration

We are waiting for feedback on confirmation. @b-rei will follow up with Eclipse.
We will anyhow need to start preparation on the Contents and we will need to decide who will be on site.
