I set SOFT_ITERATIONS_NUM: int = 9999, but every time the code completes one full iteration, it seems to get killed. I think I have to send option 2 again each time.

if you updated the settings in the .env file, you need to first stop the software (if it is running for you now) and restart it. Only in this case will the new settings be applied
