Look at #250 for more information about running GTKWave on current versions of macOS. The TLDR is that you need to install the homebrew package manager and then install GTKWave with brew install --HEAD randomplum/gtkwave/gtkwave.

If you have any further questions or problems to get GTKWave working please comment in #250.
