Description
Geneweb 6.08, Linux Mint 20.3
Genealogical site MyFamily has nice example of GEDCOM file, the Simpson family. It has image of almost every character in the family and those images are stored in the cloud.
GEDCOM file has lines like these:
1 OBJE
2 FILE https://drive.google.com/thumbnail?id=1JwFkKtDw8VdvkoEdsuP8wwtHKyg1UvCn
1 NOTE He loves donuts.
When I import this GEDCOM file to Geneweb
, pictures are missing :-(
I think that pictures stored in the public cloud are good idea. When a GEDCOM export is sent to other user, he will see the images too.
The archive Simpsons-ged.zip has original file Simpson.ged
and ged file created when the imported database was exported from Geneweb 6.08, file Simpson-gw.ged
. It is interesting that GEDCOM file created by Geneweb
still has "FILE" tags with URL but Geneweb
cannot display those pictures...
Both GEDCOM files have some issues reported by GEDCOM Validator...
Maybe there is just some timing issue because when I am lucky, Geneweb
shows me one of the images, like on this screenshot:
Maybe it is not problem of Geneweb
but "the cloud", it limits number of access. When I try to open the image https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/d/1Z4LWdZJh-MUgdfGxEWUirErONzRCmEwp=s220?authuser=0,
I see the error:
429. That’s an error.
