Unable to see the content

When I try download something either by extension or by pasting the URL the content of what I am downloading is not visible at all. I dont see the progress bar, the content of what is downloading nor when it will be finished there are no notifications. You only get 1 notification when you start the download, but everything else doesn't show at all. This happened after the latest upgrade.
