This project looks very cool. My impression is that it uses a simple textual mapping scheme to connect discussion titles with the pages to which they apply… (please correct me if I'm mistaken).
I want to allow comments to be more-locally applied, at least attached to specific headings on a page ((sub-)sections in the markdown source), and preferably, even to specific passages of text. I realize that the latter comes with some technical challenges. I have ideas about how to address those, but for now can we discuss the former? It seems like we could extend the mapping to include heading information. The other part of the challenge, of course, would be to inject the comments into the page at the right spot(s). I haven't yet looked through the giscus code to find where discussions are injected, so I don't have any idea how practical that is.
