What happened?
InfluxDB: variable interpolation behavior is inconsistent between backend and frontend.
We should either fix the inconsistency, or document the changes.
What did you expect to happen?
influxdb query variable interpolation would be consistent regardless of frontend or backend mode.
Did this work before?
yes, for any site with influxdbBackendMigration=false. the default for this flag was set to true with v10.2.3
