First of all - fantastic tool that I will use waay too much! Thanks a ton! 💃

I'm designing a scene right now. I added some text and then I used the folks brush to add a crowd. After that, I cannot seem to get back to adding text. I want the crowd to say some things, but whenever I click the background I just add more folks. I also cannot see any button to go back to adding text.

If it's actually missing, maybe we can add a button to go back to letting click being in text tool mode?

EDIT: FWIW, I managed to add it by saving the file, reloading the page, opening the file, and then adding the text after that!

Hi, clicking the background adds text, unless you are in brush mode. To deactivate brush mode you have to click again on the brush you selected.

It's probably a poor UI choice but we didn't want to add too many buttons. If you have a UI suggestion that doesn't impact UX too much I can implement it :)

I have the same problem, actually. And yes - thank you very much for this great site!. I will use and misuse it during some awareness talks :)

I can usually reproduce the problem this way:

  • open a new canvas
  • write some txt (optional)
  • enable the brush
  • add some folks
  • close the brush

→ clicking on the background does not bring back the text tool. When I click several times, a folk appears from time to time.

Below is a GIF capture of the above. After closing the brush I clicked on the background (the mouse moves around o check other spots) and once in a while (usually when clicking frantically) a folk pops up.
