The error "call to the webservice failed" is not in the withings code. I'm going to need more details on where this error is seen. Screenshots and HA logs are helpful.

I am seeing it after setting up a new HA instance and after a Withings device is discovered. The pop up "This step requires you to visit an external website to be completed." comes up, I click "OPEN WEBSITE" and on the Withings site click on "Allow this app" at the "Personal app for collecting my data" screen. The response is "call to the webservice fa 8000 iled"

Home-assistant.log is empty (except for the "UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf-8' codec can't decode bytes in position 228-229: invalid continuation byte" I always get at startup...completely unrelated to this issue)

HA version 0.100.2

Also should have mentioned I was using this with no problem with 0.99.x

I found this issue through Google as I'm having the same issue in my own app.
I've sent a message to the latest developer relations contact I had at Withings as it seems to be a problem on their end.

I'll keep you posted.

I'm having the same issue as well. After typing in the email account and password, the page that asks you to "allow this app" shows the "call to webservice failed" error

This is a withings error on their site. There isn't anything we can do in the HA code.

I just got back from the Withings developer advocate and it seems the problem is now fixed, at least on my end.

@cachapa thanks for your feedback but i've got the same error per now. I've wrote now to the withings support and wait for answer.

Strange. The users who reported problems earlier just confirmed that it's working on their ends as well.
Have you started a completely new sign-in?

Sounds like this was fixed by withings. Can you close this ticket?

after i wrote to Withings SDK Support now if works (with many sensors from withings) fine (without answer from withings) now im trust that it is an withings SDK service problem and not an problem of the HA integration. @vangorra for my opinion it could be closed.
