This will help us bucket things into a 1.0 stable release milestone. There isn't a clear roadmap of features just yet.

This will be the initial release of a working client including only basic low level protocol features, focusing on correctness and reliability. Once this is done, people should be able to use all features of Kafka 0.9. After this we can consider a few refactoring including performance enhancements, multi-version support in the protocol, and nicer user apis.
