Traced it down to gitsigns via profile.nvim:

Default gitsigns config (coming with lazyvim default config, I believe).

Didn't happen previously and started at some point, so I'd suspect some changes in gitsigns (because snacks hasn't been updated in over 3 months). I could try git bisecting it I guess...

Might be related: #1029, #1015.
