Hello! I have one thing I would like to confirm.

Is the Mario ROM used here legally provided by Nintendo?

As far as I know, Nintendo does not officially distribute game ROMs (the data itself).
Even if it is for research purposes, wouldn’t using it without permission infringe on Nintendo’s rights?
