kallisto index -i FeaturesMismatch.idx -k 15 ./FeaturesMismatch.fa
As stated in the documentation, -k only accept odd numbers. The feature barcode sequence length is 8 in our samples. Should I set it to the closest odd numbers, 7 or 9? Which odd number is better?
thanks,
Shan

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am trying to use the kallisto/bustools pipeline (https://www.kallistobus.tools/kite_tutorial.html) on our KITE-seq data. I have a question on the following command:
kallisto index -i FeaturesMismatch.idx -k 15 ./FeaturesMismatch.fa
As stated in the documentation, -k only accept odd numbers. The feature barcode sequence length is 8 in our samples. Should I set it to the closest odd numbers, 7 or 9? Which odd number is better?
thanks,
Shan
