So out of the box when I create a New Contact, naturally there's:

  • E-Mail
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Data field with JSON advanced goodness

Now, in one of the implementations I have I want to ditch Last Name and rename First Name to something else, but I don't see a way to do this. Also, it would be nice to add "default" attributes (for lack of a better word) to Contacts (New and Old) without JSON (maybe?). But that's more because I find JSON scary and such.

The Feature Request really is about being able to modify First Name/Last Name if possible, some day. Please? (this is not a current blocker on my end just asking for $futureHumanProblems)

I agree that a nicer interface for custom data would be nice to make it easier for less tech-savvy people to add custom data 😊 It’s not a very high priority right now but I do want to have this in Keila; possibly either before or after 1.0.

I do think the inclusion of JSON (or some sort of "advanced" language) can make sense at times, but in this case it's a bit daunting as the "only" option for modification. I'm no stranger to things like that, I use YAML for example with some regularity, but JSON seems a bit steep in comparison.
