I ran msgf2 (v2024.03.26) separately on a target and decoy database without the internal target/decoy
analysis enabled and with the addFeatures options turned on to generate target.msgf.mzid and decoy.msgf.mzid respectively. I then ran msgf2pin but encountered an error that says "basic_string::_M_construct null not valid" as seen below.
I have supplied "REVERSED" to the --pattern parameter because my decoy names are prepended with "REVERSED_".
Output:
Issued command:
msgf2pin -v 5 --pattern REVERSED -o test.pin target.msgf.mzid decoy.msgf.mzid
