It's unclear which error types should be ignored vs propagated in various Win API call we make.

MSDN references seem to be poor in spelling out individual function error possibilities.

There is a global reference here: https://winprotocoldocs-bhdugrdyduf5h2e4.b02.azurefd.net/MS-ERREF/%5bMS-ERREF%5d.pdf That is not super useful with ~0 context.
