The refresh rate on large ProMotion displays like the iPad Pro is very slow and choppy even when doing simple things like swiping to a new page. The most degraded performance is when using the word pointer, where there is significant lag and choppiness for moving and translation.
A couple of observations on different scenarios:
This used to be completely fine and performance was great until a bit over a year ago, I submitted a bug report through the Google form for the exact time but I don't have the bug report receipt.
The degraded swiping behavior is only observed in landscape mode with 2 pages showing.
The degraded word pointer behavior is observed in landscape but is much more severe with 2 pages showing. With one page showing it is still slower but it can be ignored.
The degraded word pointer behavior is also observed in portrait mode.
The behavior on iPhone 16 Pro (ProMotion) on landscape and portrait is fine, I observe this on the larger iPad display.
JazakAllah khair for this amazing and wonderful app, and especially for making it open source, as a model for all Islamic apps. Such a beautiful thing to give to the community in this way.
