Here is how the Preferences window look like in my Fedora Workstation 40.
It would be better if it followed the new GTK guidelines for UI creation.

Avro seems to use GTK3. By any chance, do other gtk3 apps have similar issues on your system? I don't have this issue in Kubuntu 24.04
