It would be great to have a simple guide to writing a project post.

It should say things like:

  • open with a one-sentence summary of how you're trying to improve the world
  • include an attractive header image that communicates the essence bofhind the project
  • clearly lay out the background, motivation, problem and work to do
  • make it clear how people can get involved, preferably with a list of specific tasks people can perform (e.g. join a mailing list, pick an issue on a Github project with the 'solvers' label, design a logo, contribute to a shared document)
  • if you're unsure what you want people to do yet, it's OK to ask for advice. The best way to do this is to arrange a specific time to have an online discussion where people can join in and contribute their thoughts. Once you've taken community advice, you can build a task list.

If someone wants to get started fleshing this out, I've created a page on the wiki for it: https://github.com/solvers/solvers/wiki/posting-guide
