Hacktoberfest 2024

Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source software. It happens every year in October. During this event, everyone can support open-source by contributing changes and then earn limited edition swag.

The Tekton project is happy to participate in Hacktoberfest - we have a broad community of adopters and any contribution can have a significant impact.

Where to contribute

Tekton is made of several projects. In each project you can look for the hacktoberfest label, as well as for issues marked as good first issue or help wanted. If you find an issue you'd like to contribute to, and it's not labelled as hacktoberfest yet, let us know and we'll add the label for you.

Here's a list of the various components. Tekton services are: pipeline, triggers, chains and results. Tools are the tkn CLI, the dashboard, the operator and the project website. The plumbing repo is about the project own infrastructure, and the catalog repo includes a number of Tekton reusable components.

Getting involved

To get started, have a look at the community repo, where you'll find links to join our Slack, our, mailing list, our code of conducts and much more. Feel free to comment on an issue you would like to work on, join slack and say hello, we're here to help.

Note: Before you start contributing, you must read and abide by our Code of Conduct. Each project has a CONTRIBUTING.md file for more details.

Note: Tekton requires contributors to either sign a personal CLA or have their company sign a corporate CLA. There is a CI check that runs against every PR, provided by the Linux Foundation through EasyCLA. It's very easy to sign and get started contributing. If you have any question please let us know on the PR or on slack.
