Less of a request, more of a place for brainstorms:

I've always wanted to have EQ presets for audio/video players; what do you think the best approach here could be?

Good question. I guess, for any audio/video player embedded on a webpage, you can play its sound through the Web Audio API (barring some exceptions due to browser bugs). And then you can use web audio filters to EQ it. In the case of weq8, you could plug in in and store presets as JSON.
