Is async token retrieval using `mutate` fn provided by `authExchange` callback supported? #3778

const authExchange = exchangeAuth.authExchange(async utils => {
  const token = await utils.mutate(AUTH_MUTATION, variables)
  return {
    addAuthToOperation(operation) {
      return token
        ? utils.appendHeaders(operation, { Authorization: `Bearer ${token}` })
        : operation
    },
...

The mutate promise hangs forever, it never resolves but I know it successfully calls the mutation because if I provide my own fetch instance with logging.

const authExchange = exchangeAuth.authExchange(async utils => {
  const token = await utils.mutate(
    AUTH_MUTATION,
    variables,
    {
      fetch: (input, init) => {
        return fetch(input, init)
          .then(response => {
            console.log('Response:', response)
            return response
          })
          .catch(error => {
            console.error('Error:', error)
            throw error
          })
      }
    }
  )
...

I see fetch being called along with its response but the promise never resolves. (For now I am using plain fetch instead of utils.mutate which works fine)

Seems the issue is fixed on latest 4.2.2
