I downloaded this app hoping it wouod have this essential option, but alas it doesn't.

Audio Ducking is that lowering of playback volume when you get a notification sound. It's really annoying, especially if you're in a car and can't mute notifications easily.

Is there any chance of exposing this setting?

If you do adb shell settings put system multi_audio_focus_enabled 1, does that work?

@zacharee Hey, sorry for the super late answer.
I tried this command, both via ADB and locally through Termux on my rooted AOSP-based Android 10 phone. Both before and after reboot. Setting it both at 0 and 1. Nothing helped, notifications still cause audio ducking while listening to music on my BT headphones.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance with troubleshooting and trying out commands.
Could the ducking be app-based instead of OS-based?

EDIT:
Found this: https://developer.android.com/media/optimize/audio-focus
Apparently, for Android 10 (and 8-11), audio focus and ducking is indeed not managed by the OS.
