How to charge your AirPods Max

To charge your AirPods Max, plug the USB-C or the Lightning cable that came with your AirPods Max into the bottom of the right earphone, then plug the other end of the cable into a USB charger or port.

You can use these types of cable to charge your AirPods Max, depending on which model you have:

For AirPods Max equipped with a USB-C port, you can use a USB-C to USB-C cable or a USB-C to USB cable.
For AirPods Max equipped with a Lightning port, you can use a USB-C to Lightning Cable or a USB to Lightning Cable.

To charge your AirPods Max inside the Smart Case, align the cut-out on the case with the Lightning port or USB-C port on the headphones. When you aren’t using your AirPods Max, keep them in the Smart Case to put them into an ultra-low-power mode to preserve battery charge.

Check the charge status

When the battery charge of your AirPods Max is low, you’ll receive a notification on the screen of your iPhone or iPad. You receive notifications when the charge is at 20, 10 and 5 per cent remaining.
A tone will chime when the battery charge is low. You hear the tone once when the battery charge is at ten per cent, and a second time just before AirPods Max turn off.
The status light on the right earphone shows the charge status of your AirPods Max.
To check the charge status when your AirPods Max are connected to a power source, press the noise control button. The status light will turn green if the charge has more than or equal to 95 per cent remaining, or amber if the charge has less than 95 per cent remaining.
To check the charge status even when your AirPods Max aren’t connected to a power source, press the noise control button. The status light will turn green if the charge has more than or equal to 15 per cent remaining, or amber if the charge has less than 15 per cent remaining.
