Sharjah Chess & Culture Club is pleased to invite you to participate at the 2nd   Sharjah  Masters international Chess Championship
which will be held at Sharjah  Chess Club from  11th April Arrival to 20TH April 2018 Departure  .

Participants & Registration:

– Open for all FIDE players rated standard of Elo 1500 and above (some exceptional cases with special approval) as of 1st April 2018 . Online ratings and titles are not accepted.
– Last day for registration & payment is 1st April 2018.
– Registration is only accepted online via the following link  : www.shjchessmasters.com
fill the registration form and attach a passport copy and one personal photo.|
– All participating players and accompany persons accept to fully comply with the rules and regulations of the UAE

Number of Rounds & Time Control:

– 9 Rounds Swiss System
– Time Control : 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move for the whole game.
– Delay Time : 30 minutes

Tie Break:

– Direct encounter
– Buchholz (lowest)
– Buchholz (highest)
– Great Number of victories

- All participants are required a visa,
- Fees for UAE Visa $100 . unless they are from the following countries:
(Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Saudi Arabia) , Western Europe (United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Finland, Spain, Monaco, Vatican City, Iceland, Andorra, San Mario, Malta, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Cyprus and Liechtenstein) North America (USA and Canada.) Far East & Australia (Japan, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.)
- Visa rules are subject to change. Kindly confirm with your airline prior booking.
- Players who require a visa are requested to upload and attach a scanned copy of their passports and colored personal photo in the online application form
- Entry visas to the UAE will be issued for eligible participants and will be valid for 30 days from the date of arrival.

Transportation will only be provided to / from the club for the official Hotel during the tournament
No Transportation will provide from Airport
Entry & Related Fees

– Based on standard rating & title as of 1st Abril 2018.
– GM, IM with standard Elo above 2400 & WGM   FREE
– IM below 2400, WIM, FM, WFM 100$
– Players with a standard Elo of 2000-2399   125$
– All other players with a standard Elo below 2000    150$

Entry fee and related payments have to be paid in FULL prior to the deadline (1st April  2018 )   through Bank Transfer/ Deposit to the following Address:
All payments due to the Organizers on account of registration fee and hotel accommodation expenses must be paid in advance to the credit of Sharjah Chess & Cultural Club with proof there of (bank transfer certificate) must be sent along with the registration forms.

- Main Prizes will be awarded based on Tie-Break and will not be shared
- Special Prizes will be awarded based on Rating Performance
- A player cannot be awarded more than one prize, and will be awarded the highest prize

- Winner of the Tournament SHOULD BE PRESENT at the closing ceremony
- Prize winners are requested to follow the dress code of business casual (or elegant casual) no shorts, sports shoes or sneakers, slippers, hats or caps (except for religious reasons).

– The organizing committee shall provide free sharing accommodation  for players rated 2650 and above (prior approval from the committee is needed in order to guarantee the accommodation till 15 March 2018 ).
– Grandmasters with a standard Elo of 2700 + may apply for accommodation by submitting their document to sharjah chess club website www.shjchessmasters.com The organizer will provide single rooms .
– Applying for accommodation doesn’t automatically make the player eligible to get a condition
– If a participant is given accommodation, the organizer will contact the player directly with an official form to be signed and returned as instructed through the email.
