Paramount Home Media Distribution will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Peter Segal's comedy Tommy Boy (1995) with a brand new 4K Blu-ray release, which is scheduled to arrive on the market on March 25th.
Description: Holy Smokes. one of the funniest films of the 1990s, TOMMY BOY, has been remastered for 4K Blu-ray. Celebrating 30 years of gut-busting laughs, Chris Farley and David Spade are two ne'er-do-well traveling salesmen who hit the road to save the Callahan family's auto parts business, resulting in one disastrously funny consequence after another. This larger-than-life comedy features Rob Lowe, Bo Derek, Dan Aykroyd and Brian Dennehy.

That's definitely some A.I. enhanced "art" on the standard and slipcase for the cover art. Yes, it's the "original" poster art, but something is definitely off on the actors faces. It's like they added some sort of filter that makes them more cartoonish in their expressions and the overall color.
This kinda thing is going to become more and more dominant in all future releases, plus not to mention the "James Cameron/I Love Lucy" style restorations.

Also in the original poster Farley is holding Spade completely off the ground. On this, Spade's right leg/foot look to be still touching the ground, and only his left foot is off the ground. Everything about the cover art just seems weird and sketchy. It's the original poster art (the actors, at least), but it's also not.

Day One. I've long since blown out my tape, and I likely blew out my Blockbuster's DVD as well. So happy this 4K is out there. Now word around the campfire is KL's doing Black Sheep, so soon we'll really be set.

You can take a good look at a T-bone by sticking your head up a bull's @ss, but wouldn't you rather take the butcher's word for it?

And yet another 4K release from Paramount that ports over the existing Blu-Ray and leaves the 4K disc (likely a 66 GB instead of a 100 GB) free of any extras including the commentary track. I wish they’d get their heads out of their a$$es and do proper 4K releases with remastered Blu-Ray discs and at least including the commentary tracks and some new extras. It shouldn’t just be the boutique labels that bother to do anything new on these 4K releases.

@Eggman961, it is true, all of it, blu-ray.com is run by AI. It has been run by AI for the last 10 years.
Thank you Paramount. Will be getting this!

At least they included the blu ray for both releases this time. It's really annoying when the steelbook has the 4k & 2k, but the regular release doesn't.

I'm also getting annoyed at the lack of remastered blurays. I can at least understand not wanting to do 4k + bluray combos to keep costs down and let people choose their specific format, but most blurays are simply being kept with their old transfers and not getting updated.
I would even go so far as to say DVD is being wasted. As lame as DVD is for anyone who moved to HD or 4k, I am amazed at how good the modern DVDs look when they come from 4k masters. A DVD of a recent movie will often look better than blurays from 15 years ago. It turns out that that the quality of the masters is what matters most now.

"It's okay Richard, lots of people go to college for seven years!"
"Yeah, they're called doctors."
Like lots of people have said, Tommy Boy is a classic. One of my favorite comedies growing up, still makes me laugh well into my 30s. Thnx to Paramount, they're on a roll with these 4K comedy remasters (ZAZ collection, Galaxy Quest and now this) and R.I.P. The Great Chris Farley

Not knocking Lutter, but just from the caps, the Blu of Black Sheep was so bad that you should retire the combo just for that. Both Tommy Boy and Black Sheep are max $50 (and even that's pushing it), and will give you years of entertainment.
