Lionsgate Home Entertainment has provided final details for its upcoming 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth and Tim Miller's Borderlands (2024), starring Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Edgar Ramírez, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Ariana Greenblatt. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 22.
Lilith, an infamous bounty hunter with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home, Pandora, the most chaotic planet in the galaxy. Her mission is to find the missing daughter of Atlas, the universe's most powerful SOB. Lilith forms an unexpected alliance with Roland, a seasoned mercenary on a mission; Tiny Tina, a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg, Tina's musclebound protector; Tannis, the oddball scientist who's seen it all; and Claptrap, a wiseass robot. Together, this ragtag team goes on a mission to save Tiny Tina, battle alien species, and discover one of Pandora's most explosive secrets. The fate of the universe could be in their hands — but they'll be fighting for something more: each other. Based on one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time, welcome to Borderlands.
From Director Eli Roth (Thanksgiving) and Producer Avi Arad (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), this adaptation of the popular video game series is a fresh take on these beloved characters. Borderlands stars Cate Blanchett (The Lord of the Rings franchise), Kevin Hart (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda), Ariana Greenblatt (Avengers: Infinity War), Florian Munteanu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), and Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween).
Based on the video game Borderlands created by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. Produced by Ari Arad, p.g.a., Avi Arad, Erik Feig.

This is great news for both people who were waiting for this.
I'll pick it up Black Friday or December 26, when this inevitably dips below $10.

No audio commentary? Eli Roth loves doing them.

This actually made more money than The Crow despite being one of the biggest bombs of 2024

Borderlands may have made more money than The Crow but it also cost $120 million to produce. The Crow cost $50 million to produce.

A truly baffling misfire. I'm just waiting for their NDAs to expire so we can get the true story of how this came to be...

The only thing that would save this on home release would be an R rated cut and an unedited/NDA expired commentary.

I really enjoyed this one. I don't understand the hate for it. Granted I never played the video games. Is it academy award material, No absolutely not. But all video game adaptations usually aren't anyways. I thought it delivered on what's really important and that is Entertainment. I found it entertaining and very funny. So to me if it keeps your attention, then they must of done something right. I never give a crap about box office sales anyways. Because it's impossible to determine a movie's fate by just that. That's why later so many movies get a cult status. I'll definitely be picking this up on 4K when it comes out.

Felt like I was watching Reshoots: The Movie the entire time I sat through this. If this was on the same level of the good-but-not-great Boys Kills World I’d have been satisfied, but it turned out to be a disaster.
