Notre 1er album est là ! On se voit bientôt sur scène ? Roubaix le 5 avril, Paris le 10 avril...
Violette Records proudly presents the eagerly anticipated debut album from The Reed Conservation Society.
After captivating us with three spellbinding EPs over the last four years, the formidable duo release their first full-length record which includes a linguistic switch from English to French.
The debut album is aptly titled 'La Société de Préservation du Roseau', a nod to their new, French-infused direction. The band continues their exploration by whisking the listener on journeys across distant landscapes. The french lyrics amplify an emotionally charged and immersed listening experience.
"My main inspiration was nature - anything from small landscape details to large spaces, to the destruction of our ecosystem. I tried to approach this poetically."
- Stéphane Auzenet
Stéphane's talent as a songwriter shines in these compositions. The tracks "Molly," "Le tamis," and the first single "Pylônes" demonstrate this beautiful homage to nature. These songs weave together imagery of rain, tears, lakes, reeds, and water lilies. Other tracks delve into darker themes whilst successfully maintaining the delicate balance between melancholic storytelling and being upbeat. By doing so the record offers both escapism and reflection.
The collection includes collaborations with Natacha Tertone, Vincent Mougel, and Emma Broughton and sound engineer Yann Arnaud.
'La Société de Préservation du Roseau' reaffirms a talent for melody and creating beautifully contemplative atmospheres through gentle and expressive soundscapes.
