Sex and the City star Kyle MacLachlan shares his thoughts on potentially returning to the sequel series, And Just Like That.... In the original series, MacLachlan portrayed Trey MacDougal, Charlotte's (Kristin Davis) former husband before Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler), who handled their divorce case as Charlotte's attorney. The sequel series has reunited many of the original Sex and the City cast members in their respective roles, including Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays the columnist, Carrie Bradshaw, and Cynthia Nixon as Miranda.

Whether it be while watching for the first time or while rewatching for the hundredth, a Sex and the Citymarathon never gets old. Over the course of six seasons, the show follows the lives of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis). It primarily focuses on their sex and love lives, as narrated by Carrie's sex column, but it also highlights the strong friendship between the four women at its center.

Cynthia Nixon revealed to “Sex and the City” co-star Kristin Davis on Monday that when she joined the HBO comedy as Miranda, she thought another famous “Kristin” had been cast as Charlotte: “I didn’t know who you were,” she said.
The other Kristin in question? British actress and recently a Best Actress Oscar nominee for “The English Patient,” Kristin Scott Thomas.
Nixon, who played Miranda on the hit HBO series, stopped by Davis’ “Are You a Charlotte?” podcast on Monday and talked about the funny case of mistaken identity as well as their experience on the initial episodes working together.
“Sarah [Jessica Parker] and I knew each other quite well. We’d worked together a bunch of times, and we were always auditioning for the same parts and stuff when we were kids,” Nixon said. “And Kim [Cattrall], I knew a little bit, I’d seen her in a few things.”

Kristin Davis recently reflected on the changing attitudes toward women’s fashion and nudity in Hollywood, revealing that she and her Sex and the City co-stars once felt nervous about showing their nipples on screen.
The actress, best known for her role as Charlotte York, shared her thoughts during an episode of her podcast, Are You a Charlotte?. She discussed how much things have evolved since Sex and the City originally aired from 1998 to 2004 and how standards around revealing clothing and on-screen nudity were vastly different at the time.
While speaking with clinical psychologist Dr. Hillary Goldsher, Davis pointed out how common it is today for celebrities to wear sheer dresses on the red carpet, often exposing their bodies.
“Look at how people present themselves now. It’s totally normal to have almost everyone on a red carpet in a sheer dress where, potentially, their nipples are showing,” Davis said.

Sex and the City gave us glam, gossip, and one seriously polarizing lead: Carrie Bradshaw. Love her or hate her, she’s got a reputation for being, well… kind of a mess. But if you ask Sarah Jessica Parker, the backlash is totally unfair. According to her, fans just don’t get it.

The problem? Fans definitely get it, and they’ve got receipts. From stringing Big along to treating her friends like background characters, Carrie’s got plenty to answer for. But Parker’s latest hot take’s only making things worse.

Even though Younger was a fan-favorite hit during its inital seven-season run, the series has kicked off 2025 by having a major resurgence. On Jan. 7, the TV Land original romantic comedy series from creator Darren Star was added to Netflix and popped. As of Feb. 6, the show remains in the top 10 alongside recent new seasons of hit Netflix originals The Night Agent and The Recruit.
It's the most recent library series to come to Netflix and experience the "Netflix effect," which simply means that new viewers are discovering the series and old viewers are rediscovering the series. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in March 2025, Younger originally aired between 2015 and 2021 and effectively filled a gap for actually good guilty pleasure programming we'd been missing.
While your Netflix (re)binge-watch of Younger might be nearing its end, you're likely wondering what show to add to your watch list to keep the good times rolling.

Sex and the City tells the story of sex and relationship columnist Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) and her close circle of friends navigating life and love against the backdrop of 1990s and early aughts New York City. The show offered a poignant look at the importance of female friendship and the nuances of modern relationships, offering a groundbreaking female perspective for its time. While the friendship between Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) and Carie remains its focus, the contenders for the best boyfriend from Sex and the City remains a topic of conversation.
The group of women date and marry numerous men throughout Sex and the City's six seasons. However, there are several standouts, including Samantha's boyfriend, who shaves his head in solidarity when she battles cancer, Carrie's fiancé, who renovates her entire apartment, and Charlotte's second husband, who worships the ground she walks on.

We're at the end of 2024, and you know what that means. It's time to look back at what all happened this year. We'll start off by saying that it's been a rollercoaster of a year for many of the streaming services, especially Netflix. While there were many renewals from the streamer, there were also some cancellations.
This year, the streaming powerhouse pulled the plug on 17 of its original series, and there's even a chance there will be more cancellations since 2024 isn't quite over yet. Obviously, a show getting canceled is never a good thing, and it sucks for the people who were hoping for additional installments. However, there's one Netflix show that got the boot this year that we're not exactly sad about.
In this article, we shared all the Netflix show cancellations from this year as well as discussed why we weren't necessarily hurt by one of the shows being axed.

One of TV's most recognizable (and highest-paid) actresses, Sarah Jessica Parker has an unsurprisingly fabulous net worth. Parker started appearing in films in the 1980s, with her first major role being Rusty in Footloose. She continued to work steadily, famously playing the enchanting witch Sarah Sanderson in Disney's 1993 cult classic, Hocus Pocus. But it would be her role as Sex and the City's shoe-obsessed protagonist Carrie Bradshaw that catapulted Parker to the A-list. The wildly successful HBO show spawned two movies, and its sequel series And Just Like That is coming back for season 3.
Parker was born in Nelsonville, Ohio to mother Barbara and father Stephen, and she's the fourth of eight siblings. From an early age, Parker knew she wanted to act, and made her Broadway debut at age 11. Outside of her acting career, Parker dated Robert Downey Jr. from 1984-1991. The HBO series Sex and the City is remembered as a show about women navigating dating in their 30s in New York, but the best episodes of Sex and the City are about much more than that. The series follows Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Samantha (Kim Cattrall) as they balance their careers, friendships, and romantic relationships. Because they are all in their 30s when the original series takes place, the show navigates a lot of adult milestones, like career setbacks, marriage, and having children.
Where Sex and the City truly flourishes is in its showcase of female friendships as they navigate their own lives. The four women at the center of their show have their own storylines, their own romances, and their own conflicts to overcome, but they are there for one another when it counts. They go out to have a good time,...

We largely have HBO to thank for all the incredible, genuinely profound work we enjoy in the television medium today. Founded in 1972 as a premium destination for movies and major events, it is now synonymous with its indelible contributions to the art of serialized storytelling -- and we've gathered and ranked several of the network's best shows ever.
Take note that this list doesn't represent the entirety of the network's greatest achievements. We made the difficult decision to omit talk shows and news programs ("Last Week Tonight with John Oliver"), documentaries ("The Jinx"), Max Originals ("Peacemaker"), and those series that lean a little too far toward reality ("How To with John Wilson). What remained were 20 of the greatest stories ever told, together defining in large part the standard we expect from television in the 21st century.

We can always count on HBO and Max to deliver some of the biggest and best shows on TV. Although there's no new season of House of the Dragon coming in 2025, there are new seasons of The White Lotus, The Last of Us, The Gilded Age, and Hacks on the way in the new year.
Unfortunately, there are a few HBO and Max shows that will probably get canceled in 2025. Those are the shows we're talking about now.
On the bright side, there aren't that many popular HBO and Max shows that will be on the chopping block in 2025. Many of the established shows, like The White Lotus, should have blanket renewals. As long as the creators have a story to tell, they should be easily renewed.

Ron Livingston can’t walk down the street without “Sex and the City” fans hating him. Or, more precisely, his infamous character Jack Berger.
During Season 5 of the hit series, Livingston’s Berger dates Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie. A struggling novelist, Berger’s mood swings lead to him ending things with Carrie via Post-it, reading, “I’m sorry. I can’t. Don’t hate me.”
Livingston’s real-life wife, fellow actress Rosemarie DeWitt, said during “The Drew Barrymore Show” that she and Livingston couldn’t even walk through New York City without rabid “Sex and the City” fans accosting them.
“Back in the day, when we first started dating, we’d be walking in the West Village, and there’d be those ‘Sex and the City’ tours, and Ron would be like, ‘Go left! Go left!,’” DeWitt said. “We’d have to duck into Magnolia Bakery or something because...

When the Sex and the City sequel series And Just Like That… debuted on Max, we couldn’t help but wonder: Who is this bumbling, reckless, duplicitous character Cynthia Nixon is playing, and what has she done with the progressive, competent, forthright Miranda Hobbes? Here’s a ranking of Miranda’s Ajlt low points — all but one of which is her doing. 7. Sex and the City continues to be an iconic and memorable sitcom, even long after it first aired. The show follows the life of sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), as well as the lives of her three best friends, Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis). It shows the four women going on many bad dates, and every once in a while, finding something real for a change. Most importantly, at the center of the focus on their dating and sex lives, is the core friendship of the four of them. They have their share of fights, but they are still always there for each other, and this is what has made the show so beloved.

As the oldest member of the iconic ensemble, many fans wonder how old Samantha is in Sex and the City. Sex and the City premiered on HBO in June 1998 and ran for six seasons, following Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall). Following the series finale in 2004, the franchise expanded to include two feature-length films before the franchise returned, with ...And Just Like That in 2021. However, Samantha has only appeared in a single cameo in the show so far.
Sex and the City was groundbreaking in its portrayal of successful, independent female characters who weren't afraid or embarrassed to talk about sex. Samantha was pragmatic, at times vulgar and inappropriate but unflinchingly honest. And without her abundance of episodic male suitors and explicit scenes, there would have been far less "sex" in Sex and the City. More importantly, Samantha...

The 2024 election is approaching fast, with less than two weeks to go until election day on Nov. 5, and the campaigns are both winding down and heating up as a result. It's been one of the weirdest in recent memory, what with President Joe Biden dropping out of the race after his disastrous and concerning debate performance. Hollywood always likes to speak out, with the loudest voices usually being liberals, but there have been some surprising endorsements of Donald Trump recently, and now we can add Mel Gibson to the list.

Add “TV critic” to Megan Thee Stallion’s long list of descriptors. The rapper, singer and songwriter stopped by “The Tonight Show” on Wednesday theoretically to promote her upcoming album, “Megan: Act II.” Instead, most of her interview with Jimmy Fallon was dedicated to her review of “Sex and the City,” a show that ended 20 years ago. True Sex and The City fans know whether they’re a Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, or Miranda. But do they know how the TV characters would vote, if they could vote, in the 2024 presidential election? On Tuesday, October 22, a social media user who couldn’t help but wonder went viral with an X thread with their thoughts on the main characters’ political affiliations.
