Don't get me wrong, there were several moments in this film where I chuckeled at some of the feline mannerisms but overall... this film is a bad version of Finding Nemo.

Took my daughter as it looked like a similar movie to Secret Life of Pets, which she liked. Started off in a similar sort of manner and I thought it would be a fun, happy, adventure type movie. However, it really turned into some very sinister themes, ones which really upset a lot of other children in the cinema. I don't want to give any spoilers, but there's definitely a few scenes towards the end that just aren't appropriate or have any place being in a cutesy kids animation.

My 8 year old son cried several times at the sad parts in the film and also with how it ended, I thought the story was ok and some of the characters cute but I felt it was too intense in parts for children. I was also flabbergasted to see the cats drinking bottles of labelled VODKA, shots, wine, whisky and an array of other alcoholic beverages..

The animation is nice, and that's about the only positive thing.
The dialogues and English voice overs are dreadful. It almost sounds like a computer generated narration, no passion or emotion whatsoever in the voices.
The plot is slow and predictable.
Very dramatic for small children and no humour at all.
Hoyts is showing this in the cinemas at the moment. We took the kids because it "looked like secret life of pets" and they like cats. We soon discovered it looks like secret life of pets because it is just a cheap, bad ripoff of secret life of pets.
It sounds like the English dub was done by some students who used Google Translate. The story is incoherent and the dubbing completely wooden.
They used the same poorly recorded and voiced "huh?" sound five or six times in a row when the little orange cat discovers the... glass blowing factory of doom?
In any case our 3 and 7 year olds refused to stay after the first 40 minutes or so. And these kids will watch hours and hours of poorly made, incoherent, low production value cartoons in a netflix binge session if you let them. That's how bad this was.
Don't see this movie. If it ever appears on your streaming subscription, email them a complaint for it existing. Easily the worst animated movie I've ever paid money to watch.

Adventurous and intense at the same time
I watched the Swedish adaptation, which, I guess, must be better than the English one.
All the people complaining about the sad moment... I guess you've never watched Bambi, or have you? Or must all the films for children be completely innocuous?
My six year old daughter liked it.

Do not take kids if they are sensitive to death and animal cruelty . this film was atrocious, spent the first 40 minutes comforting my son and then we couldnt take anymore !!!! Not comedy amd action ..and poorly marketed to look like " secret life of pets " . Save your money and time and don't bother .

If u raised ur child with common since its a good movie for kids. If ur one of these goofy, nothing bad exisists in the world parents then it's not for u. There is a little adult content.... such as drinking and some mild violence but it could be worse. In any case, this movie does not condone it, but rather teaches how bad it is... which is a good lesson for all kids. 9 and 14 yr olds that crys from this movie????? WAY TOO SHELTERED

If a fake Gucci purse sold out of the trunk of a chevy nova in NYC were made into a movie, this would be it. Awful plot line, awful voice overs, a straight ripoff of Pets and Zootopia. It's free on prime right now, but I beg you, do not waste your time!

I watched at home on Demand. I love animated movies and I enjoyed this one. But I am very sensitive and needed kleenex. This movie deals with death. And it has some dark moments! But in the end, it has a message for everyone about finding your heart and home.

I've been a professor now for 30+ years, and every year it seems like the next cohort of students becomes less driven, more entitled, and more neurotic.
The reviews here go along way to explain this phenomenon. People think they are protecting their kids, but they're not. They're just virtue signaling.
I have four grown daughters, and if this movie was around when they were young I would've absolutely let them watch it. No child was ever traumatized by this movie; however, I do believe children have been traumatized by their helicopter parent's reaction to it as they infuse their own neuroses into them.
Regardless, as to the movie itself it was not a great movie. But it certainly was not a bad movie either. Voiceovers often are hit and miss, and these were indeed not very good, and as someone who does cat rescue, let me tell you feral cats DO face many real dangers.
Helicopter parents may hate this for their children, but the more "free range kids" parents will find the movie opens up a smorgasbord of opportunity for discussion with your child.

With a terrible plot with an even worse ending. If you're contemplating watching this then don't, I Implore you!!! I don't normally do reviews but it will be worth the effort if I could save just one person from suffering!

Where to start! This movie is awful for young children, it's a dark movie with no happy moments of singing or general happiness:instead the movie contains death, attempts to harm animals ,broken family's ,loss of loved ones and will leave your child in tears.my 6yrold brother was deeply upset and troubled by this film and would not stop crying, this should NOT be a PG.a young child should not have to worry or think about death because even though it's a cartoon with a colourful cover this movie only contains heartbreaking moments with traumatic after affects on your young child. I strongly advise you do not let your child watch it unless they can handle dark and depressed scenes, which I'm sure no child can!! DO NOT WATCH

Very strange movie, but quite enjoyable. And some of the best animation that I have ever seen. Beautiful artwork.

This is for the whole family. Cats are incredibly smart in this movie, but it was just fun to watch. Ending was good, the good win the battle against the evil. Everything was just fine for me.

Yes, some violence is included. But the violence and abuse and trauma are also inside real life. Movie shows in a quite light and wise way, at least ok for 5+ years. The wise way I mean - the movie don't justify or pose a violence, it shows it as it is.
Don't watch it with your children if you sure that they will never meet any dark parts of life

Honestly confused by the 1 star ratings..
It's PG for a reason, there's some heavy plot elements and scary moments. No more than lots of PG movies and even some G ones.
This is a Chinese film. Foreign films are going to be different from American movies, if those are what you're used to.
It's not the greatest movie ever or anything. Yes, the plot is a bit Finding Nemo-ish, the US cover definitely looks Secret Life of Pets-ish and the English voice actors weren't as good as the Chinese ones.. But that's about all i can knock it for.
Honestly, it was rather good. It's about growth and belonging and the real difficulties of life. It had a rich, interesting world with complex characters. The animation was nice. If you can watch it in Chinese instead of English do so but overall, a pretty good movie.
