Is it packed with action? No. Is it terribly unique? No. Are the Southern accents very believable? Not really.
But it is wholesome, easy comfort viewing. Gets off to a slow start, and some of the characters are more interesting than others, but I enjoyed watching the family drama and romance of the main character's storyline.
If you like shows like Virgin River, Hart of Dixie, Gilmore Girls, then you'll find Sweet Magnolias pretty bingeable.

It's actually a really cute show. The acting isn't great and you know exactly what is going to happen before it happens but it's feel good comfort tv.

This show is extremely predictable. From the first few minutes of episode 1, I could already tell most of what would happen the rest of the season, its almost as if I were there while they were filming lol... HOWEVER, I actually enjoyed it a lot. It was very refreshing and very different from Netflix's new releases. It was wholesome, the setting was great along with the fashion as well. The kid actors are really good and I loved the relationship between the three ladies. I'm really hoping it gets renewed for a second season.
If you've seen one Hallmark/Lifetime movie, you'll probably be able to predict almost every scene lol but if you're like me and don't really care about that and are just looking for something refreshing and relaxing, then this is the show for you!
Only con with this show (well not only but major con, the others I can let go of) is, while it gives me a lot of Gilmore Girls vibes(which I actually do love), most of the actors are like walking inspirational quotes and sometimes, I just want to yell at them to speak to each other like normal human beings. It was a little annoying at times.

It's exactly what you think it's going to be. But honestly isn't that what we need right now? Something predictable and comforting. This isn't my typical kind of show, and I can't stand hallmark movies, but this show found me at the exact right time to remind me of the shows I watched as a kid. It's predictable but that's comforting, it's fairly woke without going out of the way, it's open arms to everyone, it's classic tv tropes with a slight twist.
I watched the whole season in one day ,I love that it has drama, romance, heartbreak and day to day personal issues ,I hope and Pray it gets to be renewed for a 2nd season as id like to keep watching it unless it gets boring but right now .I WANT MORE!!!!!!
❤❤❤❤
Season 1-
Binged watched in two days & really enjoyed it,can't wait for another season.
Decent cast,storylines & cinematography.
Seen comments over accents & other clichés,before judging watch the series.
Season 2- Was beyond happy when season two"finally" came out,so at first was disappointed it had only 10 episodes.
I watched them all within a day, however, that being said.. Felt disconnected to the characters because,so much time passed from when the prior season aired.
Take note! Making people wait between seasons, can actually be negative.. We forget, move on & find something more worthy.
Not saying it was horrible, but lost something the first season had.. A better storyline, almost.
Also not much new really was offered, which enhanced last season.. Sure there was pregnancy, loss, birth & biological reveals but it wasn't mind-blowing.
At least JLS didn't have that annoying baby voice, her character was improved some"still that's not saying much."
Unlike many series.. I have never watched this, more than once.. Even to recap, before season two started.
This was a snoozer of a let down, feel a season three will be a waste for a better series instead.. The cliffhanger wasn't even.. OMG! No! Where you can't wait, why saying another season will be a continuation of boredom.
Cinematography was decent.. So there was at least, well that!
The rest left me with cavities over the,"Bless your heart"clichéd sugary sweet lines.. regardless of circumstances. Ugh!
It has me wondering was my judgement impaired, when leaving my prior review? Hmm.

I watched all three seasons. So that must mean it's entertaining.
But Season three hurt my teeth. Sickeningly sweet and sappy. Lots of wonderful advice given to people in "crisis" by other characters - but so unrealistic.
These teens and adults sure have their heads on straight! I found myself rolling my eyes quite often due to overwhelming cheesiness. (Ehem - Hallmark?)
I also struggled to understand why some of the characters would get so deeply hurt by some of the "mistakes" made. That was odd.
I loved season 1. Seemed to get increasingly cheeseballish with each following season.
With that said, it's wholesome and entertaining. If you like Hallmark - this is for you!

I love this show. I binge watched the entire season in one day, it's about time that Netflix came out with something other than TV-MA.
Friendship, romance, angst, heartbreak. It has a great mix of everything. And I love Justin Bruenig so that's an added bonus. I really hope they come out with more seasons.

I really enjoyed the first season of this. It had highs lows and all the juicy drama in between couldn't wait for season two to start. But that's where it all started falling away the storyline went wacko the characters all became cringyworthy and it started to become more and more like a bad hallmark movie. I don't know if the writers got bored or just had no idea how to continue each character's storyline. Then comes season three I'm half way through and it's just getting even worse there's absolutely no chemistry between any of the three main couples it just seems like they put them together and said your a couple now be a couple it's so uncomfortable to watch the lack of compatibility. They all have careers but none seem to actually do a full days work sorry but it's lost me as a viewer I just can't.

Such a great watch, excellent example of how important friendship is during the ups and downs of life. It's not the most complex of scripts or oscar worthy acting however it's thoroughly enjoyable. Hope there will be a season 2 soon.

Characters are supposed to be powerful, idiosyncratic, worried about their personal circumstances and they're just lame, overacted and lack of everything to get through the show. Unfortunately, my wife thinks the opposite...

I used to really enjoy this series, the first 2 seasons were fun, easy going and relatively enjoyable as chilled evening watch.
Then season 3 arrives and the character interactions and so sickly, each being the best person in the world, with perfect morales and impeccable grammar. I understand the idea to paint an idyllic setting and likable characters, along with soft and inoffensive story lines, but season 3 goes way beyond that with almost every line and plot twist encouraging a sigh and an eye roll. I just live in hope there is a huge plot twist and massive tragedy which turns everyone against each other. Maybe a serial killer or they're actually all deceased and Serenity is actually heaven...

I'm a fan of the older romances. I am not big on the inks the teen dramas. So for me this was a breath a fresh air.
Season 3 is still watchable and interesting for the most part, but the show is definitely getting overly preachy. Sad to see this kind of deterioration in a nice show.
Preachiness doesn't normally bother me too much, but sometimes the dialog is so blatantly pointed, they might as well just turn to the camera like a 1950's advertising pitch. It's like verbal product placement.
Even some of the emotional outbursts, while well-acted, just didn't make sense in the story line. "Oh, I think we need a tearful outburst here. Never mind it's a non sequitur."
I'm constantly reminded of the old show, "7th Heaven," which I eventually stopped watching, because the dialog was so blatantly just a sermon.

With every show or movie I always come here to read reviews, trivia etc. When I enjoy something I enjoy reading why others enjoy it or why not. Same goes for when I don't like something. Or wonder why was this even made?!? It gives me peace to know I'm not the only one feeling frustrated while watching a cringe fest. That is exactly what this show is to me... a cringe fest. Acting is bad, flat almost. Feels like line are just being read off the page.! Joanna Garcia is ok. Chef friend is bad. Her outfits are unflattering for her size and shape. Third friend is ok but her accent is too much. Cheating husband, American Pie actor, is the worse of the worse. His facial expressions are laughable. And JamieLynn Spears.... Well let's just say that she must've paid a lot of money to be cast or someone owed her big time. Girl should not be acting period. I can go on and on knit picking every little thing because there's a lot more to pick. Oh and romantic pairings are hard to buy. No chemistry. And non believable ones at that!

I just binged this show and I love it! These storylines are not compelling in the least and everything is SUPER predictable but it's a nice feel-good show. This seems like a Netflix attempt at producing a Hallmark show. I love JoAnna Garcia and as others have mentioned, this show shares similarities with Reba, though somehow, they could not be more different. Brooke Elliott is an absolute delight. Her character is a bit brash but if you know her from Drop Dead Diva, it is hard not to like her. I wasnt familiar with Heather Headley or Logan Allen but they are both decent actors, probably the best in the show. One of my favorite things about this show is all of these actors with their HORRIBLE attempts at a southern accent!! Brooke Elliott's just makes me laugh so hard but the cherry on the cake of this show is how ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE Chris Klein is in it. His acting sucks but his accent.. omg.. I laugh every single time! If you like hokey, over-the-top cheesy, sentimental tv.. then give this a watch! If you want to laugh and roll your eyes at some bad tv, then again, give this a watch!

I watched all three seasons, and I can tell you it's really not a good show. It's so boring, it's flat, empty, something is missing to make it good, it could have been, but no...
They should focus more on certain characters and their development than on certain storylines that don't make sense and are completely boring. Really I don't recommend it.
For me, there are too many errors in the development of the characters, too slow, too fast, the rhythm is not good, not enough screen-time for the interesting characters, nothing emerges from this series, there is no chemistry between the characters, it's much too flat.
Really don't waste your time. It's not worth it.
And the actors are not very good... (it gets better for some in season 3).

Season one was great. Season two was getting sappy and more soap opera-like. Season 3 is like watching one of those slow, vapid, preachy Christian based soap opera television shows, and it is getting past boring and trite.
What happened to the original premise? It is going further and further in the preachy, sappy, super G-rated zone that repeats the same subject over and over again on average for three to four scenes per subject. It slows everything down tremendously and makes for a dragging, sappy, silly soap novella. They need better writers back and to stop repeating the same thing over and over and over again. They have ruined the show for the most part. What a shame.
It is doubtful I will watch many more.
