Verdict
Get Luke Lowe is advertised as a comedy, let me be absolutely clear it's not. I don't mean that in a subjective way and that I simply didn't find it funny I mean it's not a comedy, was never intended as a comedy and you won't find any laughs nor levity here.
So what is it? Get Luke Lowe is a dark gritty realistic story that focuses around two girls who use vigilante justice on an online troll and how the whole thing gets out of control. The premise is solid, the trouble is it lacks in entertainment value. Sure I was rooting for the ladies but the film never really feels like it gets going and plods away at a lacking pace with very little along the way.
I get what they were doing here I truly did, but I feel like they had a premise and little else, certainly not an endgame and the film suffers.
Watchable enough stuff, but outside of the concept there is very little to see here.
Rants
The single only other review claims that nobody should be harmed for being on a different political spectrum, but could you explain to me where politics comes into this? This isn't about left/right, there's no mention of politics here and that's not their motivation. The man is a ball of hate, a bigot, a racist, a misogynist who shared nudes of girls whose social media accounts he hacked and threatened to throw acid in the face of one leading to her suicide. That's not politics, that's just a problematic human being of which there are considerably too many at the moment.
The Good
May Kelly Solid premise
The Bad
Poor pace Never really goes anywhere.
