Plot
Captain Carter's mission to save Steve Rogers sets her on a collision course with new enemies.
Cast
The usual array of MCU regulars and unfortunate recasts.
Verdict
I was stupidly excited for What If, alas my expectations have not been met. My not being keen on the animation style aside I've found the What If's to be quite underwhelming, and their insistence on making episodes connected rather than individual stories (Which I thought this was supposed to be) is highly frustrating This episode is an example of this, essentially a direct sequel to previous where we see Captain Carter and Black Widow as the leads. They're perfectly competent, the story is alright, it ties in nicely with MCU movies and events, but that's the problem it's just "Alright". I was entertained but just about and I'll have forgotten this in no time. What If has limitless potential, this episode is yet another than demonstrates that the concept was half baked.
Rants
Alas my original rant caused my review to be shot down. So I'll just summarize based on this. Rampant misogyny, good. Criticizing misogyny, bad.
The Good
Some great MCU connections Enjoyable enough I like Captain Carter as a character
The Bad
Still don't like the animation style The recasts It's all so, average.

Plot
Two highly-trained operatives become close after being sent to protect opposite sides of a mysterious gorge. When an evil emerges, they must work together to survive what lies within.
Cast
Miles Teller in one of the few roles he hasn't played an awful human being and Anna Taylor Joy who is charming as always and the legend that is Sigourney Weaver though barely.
Verdict
I'm not one for trailers, they tend to reveal too much but for whatever reason I watched this one having absolutely no idea what it was. Immediately my interest peaked, this looked really quite interesting. I pushed it up my watchlist, ventured in and found a very original, very interesting and positively horrifying movie that though flawed was fascinating enough to keep my attention consistently throughout.
Our leads are fine, the movie has the budget to pull everything off, it's competently written, the premise is incredible, so why flawed? Well for a start I feel like it should have been longer, furthermore the ending felt badly rushed and really damaged the movie.
If you can get past that however this is an ingenious horror/romance/sci-fi that ticks most of the essential boxes, a few bonus ones and throws you some very original stuff you'll likely not have seen before.
It should have been better, but it's still a thoroughly enjoyable bit of take your brain out entertainment.
Rants
This is one of those films that would have been considerably better suited as a television show rather than a movie. Can you imagine this fantastic premise and gradual build up of lore as a show? Spread it out longer, build the tension, complete every facet of the universe that the movie alas leaves ambiguous? Alas it would probably go the same way as From, you know great idea but the writers just didn't have an end game but think of the potential!
The Good
The cast are competent here Incredible concept Some brilliant haunting visuals
The Bad
Feels a tad incomplete Too short Rushed finale.

Plot
Death awaits you in Dark Deception, a story-driven first-person horror maze game. There's nowhere to hide and nowhere to catch your breath. Run or die - it's your choice. Trapped in a realm of nightmarish mazes with a mysterious woman, your only hope of survival is to find a way to escape the darkness.
Cast
Not familiar with anyone involved.
Verdict
When I first booted up Dark Deception I was fascinated, the initial stage is simplistic but enjoyable. Sure the premise doesn't make all too much sense as you run around collecting crystals from a maze as if you're pac-man but I was gripped. Alas the frustrating mechanics left me enjoying it yet frustrated.
The further I went in the more I experienced the same feelings. It looks great, it's full of great ideas and feels often like a AAA game but something was missing and I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
The game is merciless so prepare for a challenge and in no way is that a criticism, but the difficulty + this mysterious unidentifiable missing element brought me a lot of frustration. Furthermore the randomness of it, lack of coherent story and general glue that holds it together kept me annoyed that this potentially great game just wasn't meeting said potential.
Dark Deception to me is a great foundation for a potentially great series. Alas looking at the age of the game I think this is the pinnacle of Dark Deception, shame.
Rants
The fact that another review is praising the game because the rabbits and the undead faceless nurses are "Hot" really does bring me back down to earth about the state of the gaming community. Trolls and children, this kind of stuff is why I immediately mute people when I go into an online lobby.
Oh and upon investigation 100% of the other reviews are shilled, zero other activity on them except the review singing its praises. For shame!
The Good
Looks great Some solid ideas Very enjoyable for the most part
The Bad
Mechanics can be frustrating Feels oddly incomplete Never meets its potential.
