Made Me Want to Live

I watched this movie in ICU several days after coming out of a coma. A nurse pulled the TV next to me and put the movie on as I was scared to go to sleep. At the time I wasn't sure if I was going to survive, but this movie lifted my heart and made me realise that despite the odds against me, I was alive and I had survived. I bought my own copy of the movie after leaving hospital and think about this film often.

The 10 year old male gorilla in the movie who plays Sidney is Kwan. He still lives at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. Kwan is now a silverback over 30 years old and has fathered six offspring. He is a fantastic father and is loved by all. As of the Spring of 2022, Kwan is 33 years-old.

In one scene, Mel (the dog) has two dog dishes near the door. Bob picks one up and carries it into the kitchen, but when the shot cuts back to the dog at the door, there are still two dishes on the floor.
