I was a fan of of the original Power (except for the terrible ending) and have enjoyed all of the spin-offs so far too but I have to say that Power Book IV: Force has been my favorite of them all. None are as good as the original but this is the closest of them. It still follows the original in terms of action, drama, etc. And even the pace feels like the original. Having said that, it still feels original and can stand alone. Obviously, Tommy Egan was a huge fan favorite and is the main reason why this show is good. Theresa best thing about this show is Joseph Sikora as Tommy, he just does such a great job with the role and the supporting cast all hold their own in this too. This is a must watch for any fan of the Power universe. I'm really looking forward to future seasons.

Power Book IV: Force is the third and easily the best of the spin-offs from Power. I've been a fan of Power and all the spin-offs but I like this one the most. That's obviously because the story is about the best character in the entire Power universe...Tommy Egan! It's almost impossible not to root for him. If you didn't fall in love with Tommy in Power, you definitely will here. It follows Tommy as he leaves New York a wanted man and goes to Chicago to make a name for himself and eventually take over. He breaks all the local rules to become the biggest drug dealer there. It's non stop action that will keep you at the edge of your seat throughout the series. This series is good from the first episode through to the last. If you're a fan of Power or looking for a gritty gangster show then you'll love this!
Just straight fun. For those that liked the slower original, this might be too bombastic for you.
But let's be real; Power was far from realistic, unlike The Wire or other crime related dramas.
This is a more fast paced, exciting adrenaline rush.
And I really enjoyed it the most due to Joseph Sikoras Tommy Egan. Just a balls to the wall dude.
It is cartoonish but in the right way. Far better than mumble mouth Tariq series.

I have watched the original Power twice, not for the main character but for Tommy Egan, n the show wouldn't have been as good without him..
He's wit n charm makes me laugh even when his being serious He has that cheeky chappy charm about him that makes his character lovable but just like that he can switch that charm into a Psychopath that takes no chit..
I only watched a couple eps of the Tariq Power n that's all I could handle as I can't stand that kid, he's a great actor but I don't like the character he plays n I personally think it can lead kids down the wrong path just like it did him seeing what he's dad done in Power..
Force is way better than all the Powers put together n I really hope they do many seasons of this cos I will never get bored watching Tommy Egan stuffing his face in nearly every eps n the smirk on his face when things go his way, like they always do...
Keep them coming Best Power show yet...

The power franchise is the most addictive tv out there. I didn't think anything would compare to the original show but FORCE and Tommy have the same intense and powerful story and you could hope for. The show has not gone soft, which I originally thought might be the case, shows have a tendency to start off strong and slowly fade. Not this one! Force is is action packed and has all the violence and dark feel that made you fall in love with power in the first place. If you like action packed underworld thriller shows you can't stop watching till it's 5 am and you have work at 6, then this show is for you.
I started out really disliking Tommy in the original show, but his growth as a character made me appreciate his motivations and actions. He is still a deplorable person, but it makes for a great entertaining show.
Tommy and The Head of Flynn family is the best. It's so funny the keep on calling walter Flynn irish.
Anyone can HEAR the difference between scot and irish. Not Hollywood.

Beats PBI II and III... by a noticeable margin.
The story line is way more focused. Yes, there are peripheral characters as in the other "books", but here, we have a more singular approach, where Tommy is the focal point and everything that happens kind of revolves around him.
And it works. Well.
It's kind of like Howard Stern - "you just wanna tune in to see what he says or does next."
This was sorely lacking in the previous 3 series, which were structured by overly drawn out plot lines involving too many characters.
In my opinion, this is the "book" they should have come out with first, and just ran with it.
This could easily run a few seasons, and it's a solid 8/10.
I rate the previous "books" a 6.5/10 comparatively.
Plus, ...that car !!

The producers of this show need to do more research - the Flynn's accent is Scottish so unless they've got Scotland and Ireland confused- they need to hire Irish actors or stop calling the Flynn's Irish !!!

Tommy is back, that Power Book II with Tariq is unwatchable, is has nothing from Ghost charisma...
Can't wait to see Tommy's new adventures, hopefully without Tariq's face anywhere in it.
So far, Force is turning out to be pretty good. Tommy is, well, Tommy. I like the new characters and the storyline. I'm not from Chicago, but I love what I'm seeing. The rivalries are great between the Irish, the Serbians, and the black people. I'm only on episode 6, and I can't wait for the next 4!

Brilliant follow up, don't listen to the bad reviews they don't know anything.. If you want a thrill ride with a brilliant central character and you liked power.. You'll love this!
Tommy always was the one that kept your attention in power and he commands every scene he was/is in, great story which doesn't require a degree to follow and every episode just keeps building the tension and keeping you gripped.
There is definitely a few more seasons they can get pull out of the bag for this and I look forward to them coming.
Is hands down better than all the other power spin off series and you won't regret giving it your time.

Interesting! I think it's better than Tariq side of book II. Just need a little more time to build characters surrounding the city. I think Tommy is gonna make a blast in Chicago.
This is even better than the original. Minus ghost and he's a character and actor that can never be forgotten. This is the best quality of writing in the universe and it's definitely got some great new Actors added. Quality directing and over all a real banger of a show. I can't give it 10 because what would I give shows like the wire and breaking bad? However I'm comparison to any new stuff it's a 10 today.

How could they make a character that's despicable be so cool, this program manages to do that, we get a Tommy Egan T. V. show set in Chicago, he's virtually a fish out water in the criminal landscape of the city, trying to find a way to be successful doing it the only way he knows how to, by being vicious and ruthless, if you could stomach the language and attitudes then you're going to be O. K.
The criminal element going up against this dude, better be ready, he survived New York, he's only around to make money and won't let anything get in his way, very good first two episodes of this program, looking forward to watching this show, wait till one of my favorite characters show up in that city, Two-Bit, this is one thirsty dude probably just as bad as Tommy, another survivor looking for a come up, the Power universe is very entertaining so far.

Where to start. First off, it's definitely good to see Tommy back and I'm glad hes getting a fresh start BUT the show isn't even close to being as interesting as Power or Book II (I cant speak on Book III since I still havent finished it). It's even a bit boring at times in these first couple of episodes.
Like Jamie and even Tariq, Tommy is a very interesting character but the difference is Jamie and Tariq also had an excellent supporting cast of characters in their story and Tommy just doesn't have that. They have potential but a but of the spark is missing with the cast as a whole.
The location is also a bit of a hindrance for me. It should've taken place in L. A. or somewhere colorful to give it more of a glamorous and different asthetic for Tommy. The grainy look of the show makes it feel dreary and I think Tommy deserves better than that. Even the city lights at night look bland in the show.
The locations is a done deal but I hope the character stuff improves in the second half of the season.

"I want every last dollar, until I'm running it."
Power Book 4: Force was created by Robert Munic and stars Joseph Sikora, Lili Simmons, Tommy Flanagan, Shane Harper, Issac Keys and Kris D Lofton.
After being the breakout star of the original Power series Starz decided to give Joseph Sikora his own spin-off series focusing on his Tommy Egan character after he cuts ties with New York and moves on to dominate the Chicago drug world after the events of the original Power.
If you're new to Power and you decide to just jump straight into this show the best way I can describe it is it's a mix between The Sopranos, Tulsa King and Gangs Of London. In terms of performances Joseph Sikora is the star of the show here this is his show and he makes for a good leading man and completely kills this Tommy Egan role. Other standouts are Lili Simmons (Banshee, Ray Donavan) as Claudia Flynn the daughter of the biggest Irish Kingpin of Chicago who takes an interest in Tommy. Tommy Flanagan (Sons Of Anarchy) is also good here as the jaded and bitter current kingpin of Chicago.
Out of all the Power shows this one is probably the most action packed but that's to be expected because trouble constantly follows the Tommy Egan character wherever he goes. Worth a watch.

Absolutely love this show despite the over the top violence, strictly because of JOSEPH SIKORA's phenomenal performance!! Awesome actor, surrounded by other talented actors. The ONLY downside of this show is LILI SIMMONS' completely unconvincing attempts at trying to act/be ruthless and threatening. Total joke, she merely comes off as someone PRETENDING to be tough by adapting a stupid walk, ridiculous facial expressions, and goofy vitriol, just plain SILLY!!!! She is so out of her league and it makes her standout, but for the wrong reasons. Wish they would recast, but just my opinion. Otherwise love this storyline.
As a Power fan, I gave it a 10 but:
Other than that, Joseph Sikora is at its best as Tommy Egan.
- the story feels a bit rushed or on fast forward sometimes
- some events in the first episodes are given to us without much context
- the only thing that annoys me the most is the use of Tommy Flanagan, Scottish actor, using his Scottish accent to portray an Irishman. Some here in the UK might call it blasphemy. On this part, they could've done much better.
Other than that, Joseph Sikora is at its best as Tommy Egan.

I'm a 'Power' fan for life, the only thing that bothers me is the 'broken Russian' instead of Serbian... Too many serious Serbian actors who could play Mirkovic and the gang, and make it more genuine, but you picked those guys... smdh.
